Lord Rama Navami Birth Story

The sacred legend of Lord Rama Navami marks the divine birth of Lord Rama, the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu, who is reborn to restore dharma on Earth. In the ancient kingdom of Ayodhya, King Dasharatha ruled wisely, but something was troubling him. He was saddened that he had no children. To seek divine blessings, he vowed to perform the sacred Putra Kameshti Yajna under the guidance of Sage Rishyasringa. Pleased with the Yajna, the deities granted him a divine kheer, which was distributed among his three queens; Kaushalya, Kaikeyi, and Sumitra. On the ninth day of Chaitra month, at noon, Queen Kaushalya gave birth to Lord Rama. This auspicious day is celebrated as Ram Navami Puja, symbolizing hope, virtue, and divine protection. But the birth of Lord Rama was not ordinary. He was born to defeat the demon king Ravana and free the world from evil. His life and teachings are beautifully described in the epic Ramayana.
