What is Adhik Maas?
Adhik Maas, or Purushottam Maas is an extra month added to the Hindu lunar calendar to balance the difference between the Lunar and Solar year. Also known as Adhika Masa or Purushottam month, it occurs approximately once every 2-3 years when no solar transition takes place during a lunar month. As this period is considered to be highly auspicious, devotees observe the Purushottam Maas Vrat, perform prayers, and engage in charity to seek divine blessings.
